Thyroid is a endocrine gland that is in butterfly shape located at the base of the neck.
It consists of two lobes (right and left) connected by a small tissue called the isthmus.
The thyroid produces hormones, mainly thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), that control the body’s metabolism.
