Mastectomy are performed either for treatment or prevention of breast cancer

5.Important Terminology

Lumpectomy is the removal of an entire lesion of the breast and a margin of tissue around it.

Pectoralis muscle: A large fan–shaped muscle covering the front of the chest wall; it has two components, the pectoralis major, which is the upper large muscle, and the pectoralis minor, which is the small muscle present beneath the pectoralis major.
